Core objectives of CSDT strategic project

The digital economy is constantly evolving, and disruptive technologies such as digital tokens and blockchain networks are playing an increasingly important role in this transformation. In this context, the Cybersecure Digital Token Trading Platform (CSDT) Project is presented as a pioneering initiative that seeks to drive innovation and improve the security, efficiency and scalability of digital token creation and exchange.

CSDT Objetivos

The strategic collaboration between the University of Salamanca and the Spanish National Institute for Cybersecurity (INCIBE) aims to develop a secure and innovative platform for the exchange of digital tokens. This platform will be based on energy-efficient distributed ledger technologies (DLT), which will ensure a lower environmental impact compared to other existing solutions.

Boosting innovation in cybersecurity: fostering innovation in the field of cybersecurity. This is achieved by exploring and adopting disruptive technologies such as blockchain, directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) and energy-efficient distributed ledger technologies (DLTs). These innovations strengthen the security of digital assets and open up new opportunities in data protection.

Improve efficiency and scalability: The project will use directed acyclic graph technologies (DAGs), which are faster and more efficient than traditional blockchain technology. The use of DAGs will enable greater scalability and efficiency in the exchange of digital tokens, which will reduce processing times and improve the user experience.

Fostering Innovation: In the exchange of digital tokens, exploring new possibilities in the digital economy based on blockchain and DAGs. The platform will be a fundamental tool for developers and companies looking to create innovative applications in the field of digital tokens.

Reducing energy consumption: This will reduce the environmental impact of digital token exchange. The use of low-energy technologies is essential to reducing the carbon footprint and contributing to a more sustainable future.

Establish an Interoperability Standard: This will enable the communication and exchange of tokens between different platforms and networks. Interoperability is essential to encouraging the mass adoption of digital tokens and creating a broader and more diverse ecosystem.

Contingency and Resilience Plan: Establishes clear procedures for crisis management, data recovery and business continuity in case of disruptions:

A system for backup and recovery of data in the event of system failure.

An incident response team to investigate and resolve any security issues that arise.

A communication plan to inform users of any problems or incidents affecting the platform.

Collaboration and knowledge transfer: Between academic institutions, governmental organisations and private sector companies. This collaboration strengthens responsiveness and resilience to cyber threats.

Use cases

Robust security protocols for digital tokens within the CSDT Project. These protocols include advanced encryption techniques and multi-factor authentication, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of transactions on the platform.

Exchange of digital tokens between individuals and businesses.

Creation of decentralised applications (dApps) for digital asset management.

Implementation of secure and efficient payment systems for e-commerce.

Creation of decentralised crowdfunding platforms for innovative projects.

Creation of collections for video games or physical assets.

Creation of digital twins through dynamic NFTs.

The CSDT project is presented as a strategic and transformative initiative in the field of digital tokens, with key objectives that seek to drive innovation, improve the security and efficiency of token exchange, and foster collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field of distributed ledger technologies. It has the potential to become a benchmark in the creation of a more secure, efficient and sustainable digital economy, driven by disruptive technologies such as digital tokens and blockchain networks.

This initiative is carried out in the framework of the EU-funded Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan funds (Next Generation), the Spanish Government's project that outlines the roadmap for the modernisation of the Spanish economy, the recovery of economic growth and job creation, for solid, inclusive and resilient economic reconstruction after the COVID-19 crisis, and to respond to the challenges of the next decade.
