Overview of the Blockchain Platform
The CyberChain blockchain platform has been developed with the aim of enhancing cybersecurity through the use of advanced distributed ledger technologies. It provides a secure and accessible environment for executing Smart Contracts and other decentralized applications, eliminating the need for a native cryptocurrency and allowing operations without additional costs.
Key Features of the Platform
Elimination of Native Currency and Transaction Costs:
The platform does not require its own cryptocurrency, which removes associated transaction costs and simplifies usage for developers and users.
Node Localization:
Ability to manage and visualize the geographical distribution of nodes on the blockchain network, optimizing security and performance.
User Role System:
The platform enables detailed control through a user role system that includes:
- Admin: Full management of the platform.
- Role Manager: Control over role assignment and management.
- Deployer: Permission to deploy smart contracts.
- Writer: Ability to write and modify data.
- Reader: Read-only access to the blockchain.
Functionalities
Multi-Signature System with FIPS 204 Module-Lattice-Based Digital Signature Algorithm (Crystal Dilithium) and Elliptic Curve Algorithm (SECP256K1):
Implementation of a digital signature system based on lattice cryptography and elliptic curve cryptography to improve security against possible quantum attacks.
JSON-RPC Read Restriction:
Security improvement through the implementation of additional controls that limit access to the JSON-RPC communication protocol, ensuring secure interactions with the blockchain.
Block Explorer and Educational Tools
Additionally, the platform includes a block explorer and educational tools designed to improve the understanding and usage of blockchain technology:
- Educational Tools with Use Cases: Practical examples that allow users to explore the blockchain and gain a better understanding of its applications in different sectors.
- Deployment of Secure Contracts from OpenZeppelin: Support for secure smart contracts using the well-known OpenZeppelin libraries.
- Support for Metamask: Integration with Metamask to facilitate user interaction with the blockchain directly from their browsers.
Platform Access
All users will have the Reader role for access to the Cyberchain blockchain platform. To get other roles an Admin or a Role Manager will have to grant it to you. On the other hand, blockchain validation is reserved for the universities participating in the chair. These universities act as validation nodes of the network, allowing them to manage, validate and secure transactions on the blockchain. Validators can participate in the governance of the network, and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the CyberChain blockchain ecosystem.
