The course on "Blockchain, Self-Sovereign Identities, and Legal Aspects" is designed to provide a comprehensive view of how legal aspects increasingly play a significant role in any digital solution, requiring most projects to have qualified personnel both technically and theoretically. Thus, the course is established with the main objective of minimizing the gap between industry needs and highly qualified professionals who can provide these services.
To achieve this, the knowledge to be imparted to students includes the following:
- Blockchain: As is already known, it is a fundamental aspect when it comes to providing security over information at various levels, for example, through the generation of tamper-proof transactions. However, Blockchain technology itself is not immune to cyberattacks or fraud, and the different attacks it can suffer from (routing attacks, Sybil attacks, 51% attacks, or even phishing) are known. Therefore, throughout the course, special attention will be paid to cybersecurity aspects so that all attendees know how to design solutions based on Blockchain technology, optimizing their levels of cybersecurity.
- Self-sovereign identities: Access and identity management, in combination with key management techniques, are some of the specific security controls that can be incorporated at the enterprise level when using Blockchain. Therefore, the course content will explain how to address these fundamental aspects from a secure point of view that helps provide the necessary transparency for each use case.
- Legal aspects: The aim is to review in a theoretical-practical way how to ensure compliance with the different applicable regulations, with a special focus on the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
METHODOLOGY
The aim is to provide a complete learning experience, where students can link theory, practice, and critical analysis. In this way, they will be prepared for current challenges in the field of blockchain, as well as recognize and respond effectively to them.
